Object drawing

My object drawing

My object drawing was fun, creative and a little funky. I feel that it has depth and many different values to it. In my in-progress post, it only had 3 cones, not so much color or black. I made the smaller colorful cones out of pastels and glued them on. I added more ink and some charcoal to make the original cones pop out more for say.

I really liked this assignment, it allowed me to open my mind up from the last class and explore more into the free art world where anything is possible.

My in-progress

My in-progress

This is my in-progress art, I'm about half way done with the art. We used out favorite different marks of work and combined them into a giant piece of work with our favorite practice art. I'm having a lot of fun with this because there's no right or wrong here, it's whatever.

Favorite exercise drawing

Favorite exercise drawing

This drawing is my favorite because it has a unique looking texture and cool look to it. It just looks real but yet like a cartoon version to me because of the values in it.

This assignment was a timed. It was called "Being Quick". Each drawing you had shorter and shorter time to draw your object. This was a 5-minute drawing and you had to work your way down to 10 seconds.

The final Do Dad of them all... SELF-PORTRAIT

Final self-portrait drawing

Comparing day 1 to day 82

The dramatic end of this class 2017

This class was a blast for me. I learned so much and how important certain things are for drawing. The way people draw doesn't make it wrong or horrible, it makes it unique. You have to make it your own one way or another. It doesn't matter how you do it either. It just depends on how you look at it yourself. On how you do your value of the shades or how you just draw it in general form contour drawing to drawing on a computer screen to painting. I know I might not be the best in your own opinion but I've improved by like a lot since I've been in this class and I've done so much.

In my drawing, in the end, I had to do a different texture look to the white parts of my drawing because it got stained so I had to try to make it blend in. I did the same kind of thing with parts of the background to give it a little bit of an oomf for say. Give it more character.

The only way you can be good at something is if you try and believe you can do it. I've learned that if you're having trouble and get mad at your art your doing it right.

Self Portrait 2

Self Portrait post 2

On this drawing, we have to make 3 posts on our progress. This is a self-portrait done in all pencil and over half way done but still in progress.

I happen to really like doing this drawing because it allows me to get creative and learn more about myself and my own style of drawing. When you stress your mind it helps you in the end. I still got a long way to go though.

Self portrait 1

Self-portrait post 1

For this assignment, we are having to draw a self-portrait with a mechanical pencil. Just like what we did in 8th grade, we have to do the same but with a pencil. I have decided to take on the challenge I've decided to do a second drawing, on different paper. A charcoal drawing of my self-portrait.

I'm feeling like I'm going to get very frustrated but it'll be worth it in the end after I'm done with both of my drawings. It's going to be a lot of fun and very time consuming but I'm not going to give up.

Charcoal Drawing

Charcoal drawing

For the charcoal drawing we had to use charcoal, no not just black, we had a variety of shades and values of it. From white to black, we had to draw a still life drawing with charcoal and get as much value as we could with it with what charcoal we had. I used my blending cloth a lot to get most of my value with all the objects. I had a white charcoal pencil that I used to get certain objects to have a certain shade or light spots like on the paint holder and the ball. I used the white pencil to put details in, on for instance the skate.

I happened to like this assignment and drawing because it was fun to play wth charcoal and see how you can actually use it, blend it, etc. I like using charcoal better than pencils because you can get much better values and highlights with it. It took awhile but it was worth it in my opinion.
